These images were created in 1998 for a project entitled Leg Show. Shot on polaroid film called 665 which produces a positive print and a negative that one can make silver gelatin prints from. The film was discontinued in the early 2000's. One of the beautiful aspects of this film is the slight imperfections that show up as small dots and scratches on the surface of the negative giving a distressed and worn appearance. The series referentially leverages editorial source material from mid-century men's magazines and media to draw a parallel between the flatly objectified, hyper-sexualized human form and the representations of objects in the marketing materials of the makers of high design. In doing so, I imbue mid-century modern design works with an animated eroticism, the furniture forms moving from passive object to active subject. This is a 4"x5" silver gelatin print. Although this is one of a kind right now it is not currently in an edition.
